The Honor Guard is an elite group of cadets who serve as the official ambassadors of Civil Air Patrol. Honor Guard has four elements: Rifle Demonstration, Colors, Funeral Bearing, and Drug Demand Reduction.  Teaneck Composite Squadron's Honor Guard Commander, C/Maj Lori Hoffman attended the CAP National Honor Guard Academy and trains cadets who are interested in being part of the team.

Honor Guardsmen are held to a higher standard when taking part and practicing ceremonial functions.  For this reason, any Teaneck Composite Squadron cadet interested in joining the Honor Guard team should know all standard Air Force drill as taught at the squadron, should memorize the Honor Guard Creed below, and then schedule a tryout with C/Maj Hoffman.

Honor Guard Motto

"Not to set the standards, but to exceed them."

Honor Guard Creed

I am a proud member of a Civil Air Patrol Honor Guard.

My standards of conduct, and high level of professionalism show my respect for and dedication to my craft and those with whom I serve.

I have earned the right to wear the ceremonial uniform, which is steeped in rich tradition and history.

I am superbly conditioned to perfect all movements in every drill and ceremony.

Neither the type of ceremony, severity of temperature, nor size of the audience will ever dictate the level of quality of my performance.

I am constantly driven to excel by a strong sense of dedication, patriotism, love for my fellow man, God, country, and Civil Air Patrol.

While performing, I stand sharp and crisp, motionless by choice, for I have voluntarily chosen to represent every member, past and present of the United States Air Force Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol.

I am a ceremonial Guardsman.

Colors Creed

Confident and proud, we carry the emblem of our nation's freedom and liberty.

Others have fought and died to preserve this nation's ideals and principles.

Limitless is the talent of every performer, for we strive for perfection in all we do.

Ongoing are our efforts to preserve the honor and traditions of our service.

Resilient in every weather condition, for the colors must remain high and protected.

Serious are we with every ceremony, for we represent all who have ever served.

Bearers Creed

Body bearing is an art, one which encompasses heart, knowledge, strength, and dedication.

Every movement is crisp precise and well rehearsed, for we are a team, and together, we are one.

Appearance is important, for not only do we represent ourselves, but also each member, past and present, of the United states Air Force.

Regardless of the weight of the casket, or distance of the carry, the casket will remain level.

Effortless is our expression shown on every job, for we are prepared for the task at hand.

Reliable, we will be the last to let you down.

Second to none, except the one above
